The Third event in the SCUBA #picuptrip went absolutely fantastic!

SCUBA joined forces with Plastic Free Dalat and park rangers from Bidoup Nui Ba National Park who came together to achieve our most successful clean to date!

On first inspection of the park we thought it might be a relatively easy morning but when we started searching the hedges and gullies around the perimeter we found lots and lots of plastic packaging and (to sadly be expected) lots of cigarette butts.

But never fear! 21 volunteers came together from all nationalities and backgrounds and 50% of people had never cleaned before to fill up 13 bags of plastic waste! In fact, at the end of the clean we discovered a patch of grass right at the back where had missed where lots of things had been dumped and some volunteers actually stayed on pas the clean finish time to pick it up!

We again had interest from locals who pitched in and gave us a hand and one truly passionate guy named Diamond who does his own clean ups of the city in the dead of the night!

Plastic Free Dalat have been doing some great work cleaning both in the city and outside in the forests surrounding the city. I have no doubt the movement will grow from strength to strength and more people will be aware and change their plastic purchasing habits!

Well done to everyone who joined for making it such a fun day and for helping us to clean 65 kgs!
